Students Training Program (STP) and Technician Training Program (TTP) for young graduates in Life Sciences or Biotechnology of Arunachal Pradesh

ARUNACHAL PRADESH STATE COUNCIL FOR SCIENCE & TECHNOLOGY

Centre for Bioresources and Sustainable Development, Arunachal Pradesh State Council for Science & Technology, Department of Science and Technology, Government of Arunachal Pradesh, District Papum Pare, Kimin, Arunachal Pradesh invites application from the eligible candidates for the Students Training Program (STP) and Technician Training Program (TTP) which are meant for the young graduates in the field of Life Sciences/ Biotechnology for the Biotechnology Skill Vigyan Trainings in Arunacal Pradesh.

Cycle-I: Batch-1

In this Batch, two categories of Trainings will be offered under the (1) Students Training Program (STP) and (2) Technician Training Program (TTP). The target of these training programs is to provide the skill training (fresh skilling) to B.Sc. Life Sciences and Biotechnology students. The skill trainings under this category are being designed in consultation with experts of Sector Skill Councils of Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) and the Partnering Institutions.

Vacancies

1. Students Training Program(STP): 20 (Twenty) Seats

2. Technician Training Program (TTP): 20 (Twenty) Seats

Studentship

1. Students Training Program(STP): Rs. 5000/- per student per month.

2. Technician Training Program (TTP): Rs. 5000/- per student per month.

Course Duration

1. Students Training Program(STP): 3 (Three) months.

2. Technician Training Program (TTP): 3 (Three) months.

Qualifications

1. Students Training Program(STP): B.Sc. Life Sciences & Biotechnology.

2. Technician Training Program (TTP): B.Sc. Life Sciences & Biotechnology.

3. Updated Qualification: Candidates having the degree in B.Sc./ M.Sc., B.Tech/ M.Tech. or equivalent in Life Sciences/Biotechnology including Agriculture/Veterinary, Horticulture, Food Sciences, Nursing etc. are also eligible to apply under this program. The final year students of B.Sc./ M.Sc., B. Tech/ M. Tech of these subjects may also apply for Students Training Program (STP) which would help in doing their job oriented project work.

4. Note: Final semester students of B.Sc./ M.Sc. (Life Sciences/Biotechnology) may also apply for the STP.

Age Limit

The age limit should not exceeded 25 years as on 31st December 2021.

Mode of Selection

1. Selection will be based on the merits of the applications received through this call.

2. Only the State of Arunachal Pradesh domicile candidates are eligible to apply.

Objectives

1. Students Training Program(STP): Instilling skills in students at various levels of education and innovative research, enhancing employability in Life Science / Biotechnology Sector and Generating Industry ready skilled work force.

2. Technician Training Program (TTP): The objective of the technician training programme is to provide trainings on lab techniques to B.Sc. Life Sciences and Biotechnology students for technical jobs at entry level in industries/hospitals/R&D laboratories/Universities/colleges etc.

Informartion

The Arunachal Pradesh State Council for Science and Technology (APSCS&T) in collaboration with three Skill Development Councils of NSDC/MSDE (LSSSDC, ASCI & FICSI) and four major partnering institutions in the North Eastern Region of India (1.CAU-CHF, Pasighat 2. NERIST, Nirjuli 3. CSIRNEIST Jorhat & its Itanagar Branch in Naharlagun and 4. Tezpur University, Tezpur) is implementing the Skill Vigyan Program in Biotechnology which is sponsored by the Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Ministry of Science & Technology, Govt. of India for the benefit of young graduates in the State of Arunachal Pradesh. The objective of the Skill Vigyan Program is to make the young Life Sciences & Biotechnology Graduates ready to take-up jobs in Industries, Laboratories of Institutions, Universities, and Colleges as well as to establish start-ups, incubators on their own in their respective fields.

Core Objectives of the DBT-APSCS&T Skill Vigyan Program

1. Networking and Liaison with partner institutions and experts for conducting specific thematic Skill Development programmes.

2. Building mechanism for generating skilled workforce to meet industrial & region-specific requirements for better employability/professional/competence development.

3. Capacity building of faculty through hands-on training & in-depth exposure for imparting quality professional education, instilling skills in students at various levels of education and undertake innovative research.

4. Collaborating with Academic and Industrial Organizations to strengthen ability of future entrepreneurs’ w.r.t. necessary skill sets and capability to perform entrepreneurial goals effectively.

5. Industry-Academia platforms for creating demand - supply synergies for need based trained skilled manpower; identification of gap areas for initiating new programmes.

6. Studying available skill development programmes and demand-based adoption thereof.

DBT-APSCS&T Skill Vigyan Partners

The APSCS&T is with engagement of two Central Ministries such as DBT-Ministry of Science & Technology and NSDC -Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) and four partnering institutions in the North Eastern Region towards implementing the DBT-Skill Vigyan program for the benefit of Arunachal Pradesh. The three Skill Development Councils of NSDC/MSDE namely 1. Life Sciences Sector Skill Development Council (LSSSDC), 2. Agriculture Skill Council of India (ASCI) and Food Industry Capacity & Skill Initiative (FICSI) are supporting for organsing Training of Trainers (ToT). Assessment of the Trainings and Certification of trainers as well as trainees besides providing their training materials. Similarly, Four Partnering Institutions namely 1. CAU-CHF, 2. NERIST 3. CSIR-NEIST and 4. Tezpur University are associated with this program for organizing these trainings based on their domain expertise and Infrastructure.

Terms of Reference

1. Emoluments: Monthly Studentship of Rs.5000/- (Five Thousand Rupees only) will be admissible per student for month.

2. Hostel facility shall be organized for the deserving candidates.

3. Those who have passed B.Sc. during the last Four Academic years (2017-18 to 2020-21) are only eligible for application and the age limit should not exceeded 25 years as on 31st December 2021.

4. Applicant should not be employed or pursuing any higher degrees.

5. Selection will be based on the marks obtained in B. Sc. Degree. Short listed Eligible candidates will be invited for attending the training for which the date and time will be intimated separately by this office.

6. Students from the Domicile State of Arunachal Pradesh only should apply and the Permanent Residential Certificate (PRC) for the same needs to be enclosed with the application.

7. Candidates are required to bring the relevant certificates, mark sheets etc. in original along with full biodata and produce it at the time of joining the training programme.

8. Attested copies of certificates and mark sheets of B.Sc. degrees are to be enclosed along with a recent passport size photograph to be affixed on the top of the application.
